About PlanetMithril

Planet Mithril is a husband and wife hobby business built on a love of miniature painting, tabletop gaming, and the completely rational belief that buying more models will somehow help finish the ones you already own.

Tom is the painter behind the brush. With over 20 years of experience painting miniatures, he's spent decades turning tiny bits of plastic, resin and metal into armies people are proud to put on the table. From gaming pieces to display models, he's painted just about everything over the years, picking up awards along the way and developing an alarming ability to paint details most people can't even see.

I'm Stacey, the one making sure everything else happens. I design and create our hobby products, run the website, pack orders, create content, edit videos, and keep the day to day running smoothly while Tom focuses on what he does best - painting tiny warriors for hours on end!

Together, we're Planet Mithril.

More than just painting...

PlanetMithril started because we genuinely love the hobby and wanted to share that passion with other hobbyists.

That's why alongside our commission painting and hobby products, we also run a YouTube channel dedicated to all things miniature wargaming.

You'll find plenty of Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game content, painting tutorials, hobby tips, product reviews, army projects, and the occasional attempt to convince Tom he definitely doesn't need another entire army of all one unit type. 

The channel has become a place where people can learn new techniques, discover useful products, and enjoy spending time with people who understand why a tiny plastic warrior can somehow consume an entire weekend!

Built by Hobbyists

We're not a big company. There isn't a customer service department, a marketing team, or a boardroom full of executives making important decisions.

It's just us.

Everything we create, design, paint and sell comes from years of being hobbyists ourselves. We know the excitement of starting a new project, the satisfaction of finishing an army, and the unique feeling of finding a box of miniatures you forgot you bought.

If you've ever said "I'll just get one more model" and immediately spent three times what you planned, you're among friends here - we got you!

Why we do it

Because this hobby has given us so much over the years.

Great games. Great friends. Great memories. And a collection of paint pots that appears to multiply when nobody is looking.

PlanetMithril is our way of giving something back to the hobby community. Through commission painting, useful gaming accessories, and content that helps hobbyists spend less time scratching their heads and more time enjoying their collections.

At the end of the day, we're just two nerds who love what we do, surrounded by miniatures, paint brushes and far more unfinished projects than we'd ever admit publicly.
